What if the Shooter Had Been Christian?

To the Left It Would Have Been a Hate Crime of Epic Proportions Requiring Draconian Consequences  •  One has to wonder what the outcome would have been if the shooter in Oregon who killed 13 people was a fundamentalist Christian in the mold of Kim Davis. And what if that person, rather than asking people what their religion is, asked them if they support gay marriage? Then, if that person replied they did, he proceeded to give them a  bullet to the head?

The outrage that would have come out of every politician’s mouth — out of every newspaper, news website and blog, and political pundit’s mouth — would have been deafening: HATE CRIME, HATE CRIME, HATE CRIME!

But since this man who ended up killing 13 people was a failed military recruit, apparently into the occult and a loser when it came to attracting a female companion like most of the other mass killers, the focus becomes all about gun control and not about their many failures in life that they take out on their victims. The only person to come out and declare this a hate crime against Christians was the actor James Woods, one of the few conservative voices in liberal Hollywood, here.

This is a hypothetical situation that is as unlikely as any that would ever really happen. Christians are among the most honest and peaceful people in the world but have been smeared and denigrated for so long that their image to many is just the opposite. And this scenario highlights just how powerful a mindset has taken hold in the country where as tragic as this shooting was, demonstrates what kind of reactions might take place based on the motive and the ensuing national repercussions.

The following is what was reported by the New York Post:

OREGON GUNMAN SINGLES OUT CHRISTIANS DURING RAMPAGE

A gunman singled out Christians, telling them they would see God in “one second,” during a rampage at an Oregon college Thursday left a least nine innocent people dead and several more wounded survivors and authorities said.

“[He started] asking people one by one what their religion was. ‘Are you a Christian?’ he would ask them, and if you’re a Christian, stand up. And they would stand up and he said, ‘Good, because you’re a Christian, you are going to see God in just about one second.’ And then he shot and killed them,” Stacy Boylen, whose daughter was wounded at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Ore., told CNN.

We got the usual political posturing from the president and voices on the left. Obama went so far as to admit he was politicizing the tragedy calling for more gun control, a tacit admission that he’s been doing it all along. One could go so far as to infer from that one statement that everything he’s said, whether it’s about mass shootings or the death of a black man by a police officer, have all been politicized. How can one really know if he hasn’t now, that he’s come clean this time?

So if it had been a Christian taking out gay marriage supporters, churches everywhere would have feds monitoring their sermons, laws would be being proposed and passed that would essentially shut down free speech for good, and there would be a movement afoot to immediately confiscate guns. If only things had gone the other way for the left. It would be their dream scenario to finish off organized religion for good in order to cement their godless ideology onto the country. • (555 views)

Good thoughts, Tim. Because it would be little fun for you or me to ditto every single line I agree with, let me fast-forward to the one area where I diverge a little:

But since this man who ended up killing 13 people was a failed military recruit, apparently into the occult and a loser when it came to attracting a female companion like most of the other mass killers, the focus becomes all about gun control and not about their many failures in life that they take out on their victims.

I don’t think a man singling out Christians for execution does this because he can’t find a girlfriend. I think a better explanation is the secular/atheist nature of much of the culture, particularly the pessimistic spin the Left puts on it where kids are flooded with doom-and-gloom messages about mankind from birth. “We’re killing the planet!” Etc. They believe man is little more than a virus on this planet. They see the supposed dispensability of man in the Left’s dark sacrament of abortion.

And don’t (as I’m sure you do not) underestimate the anti-religious bigotry of the atheists and secular types out there. Hell, I’ll even include perhaps 50% of Christians in that who are right now actively running from their own faith and grasping for a bunch of this “social justice” baloney.

Christians have been ideologically persecuted now for decades. It’s simply a logical extension that they start getting murdered. Go to your typical college graduate and he or she will tell you that Islam is a “religion of peace” while being able to cite hundreds of reason why Christianity is the bane of the world.

This is the evil propaganda that has bamboozled a lot of people, including many friends of mine. (Try having any friends in this world who haven’t been propagandized by angry, Leftist college professors or by the media and secular/atheist culture in general.)

One reason this site is so Christian-friendly is not because I go to church. (I don’t.) And not because I believe in GEE-zuz. (I’m not really sure about that.) It’s because I know that Christians are under assault and they must be defended. It’s the right thing to do. And we see that in the demonic cult of the media, they do not defend them.

I have to wonder why at this point some Democrat operative hasn’t egged on the exact type of shooter you describe in order to have their own sort of Burning of the Reichstag moment. I’m actually surprised that Obama hasn’t yet manufactured it.

We don’t even need to imagine a homosexual connection. Imagine the same question about religion — but instead shooting atheists or Muslims. Liberals always look at any crisis in terms of how it can their political agendas. Gun prohibition and confiscation is one of those, so it was inevitable that this would come up. But so is the demonization of those they disagree with most strongly and openly. So they ignore a hate crime against Christians (or conservatives, or whatever) — but play up any possible hate crime either by those they dislike (hence their invariable effort to link mass killers to the Tea Party) or against Official Victim Groups.

The ideology this guy represents is the same as the thugs of ISIS proving that you don’t have to be a Moslem to embrace their kind of hatred.

Jon Gabriel had a nice chart in Ricochet showing budding liberal propagandists (aka newsliars or the synoptic media) how to cover shooting incidents (realizing that their purpose is indicting Western civilization, not informing the public). This includes ignoring the crime and running a piece on the Kardashians instead as needed. The link is:
