They often fictionalized events or relied on dubious legends, but also often did a fine job of evoking the milieu.

    Rats. No Kindle format. But it sounds like an interesting premise for a book. I’m pretty sure Moses didn’t look or act anything like Chuck Heston. But who knows? But he certainly “evokes the milieu,” and big-time.
