Obama Betrays Black Americans with His Amnesty Stance

ObamaFingerThumbby Patricia L. Dickson   6/12/14
It appears that President Obama and the Democrat Party are willing to throw Black Americans overboard in exchange for amnesty. In a quest to maintain power, the Democrats have discovered that there are not enough black American voters to keep them in office.

The sad truth is black Americans to this day still have the highest unemployment numbers. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics April’s unemployment numbers, black unemployment is currently around 11.6% and 36.8% for black teens. An influx of low-skilled immigrants will make it more difficult for black Americans to compete for low-skilled jobs. A member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights has written a letter to the Congressional Black Caucus concerning amnesty:

Commissioner Peter Kirsanow, in his individual capacity as a member of the eight-member commission, wrote to Rep. Marcia Fudge (R-OH), the chair of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), and said that amnesty would “disproportionately harm lower-skilled African-Americans” whose economic conditions have already gotten worse under America’s first black president.

He asked members of the CBC to “oppose any legislation that would grant any form of work authorization to illegal aliens” and “oppose legislation that would increase the overall number of guest workers admitted to the U.S. each year.”

The irony of Mr. Kirsanow statement is the outright admission of the high unemployment numbers for black Americans under the administration of the first black president. This is not the first time black leaders and organizations have written letters outlining the unemployment plight of the black community, and the negative impact amnesty would have on the employment outlook for black Americans. In June of 2013, the Black American Leadership Alliance (BALA) wrote a letter highlighting some statistics:

Many studies have shown that black Americans are disproportionately harmed by mass immigration and amnesty. Most policy makers who favor the legalization of nearly 11 million aliens fail to acknowledge that decades of high immigration levels has caused unemployment to rise significantly, most particularly among black Americans.

According to research conducted by University of California San Diego economics Professor Gordon H. Hanson, immigration has accounted for 40% of the 18 percentage point decline in black employment rates, and current immigration proposals are sure to substantially raise these numbers.

Black Americans have been the most loyal supporters of President Obama and the Democrat party. No other group has voted consistently for a party in such large numbers while getting the least return on their investment. Yet, I have not witnessed any public pushback directed at the president or the Democrat party from the black community. With the recent influx of illegal children housed in shelters and military bases around the country, surely black America will wake up and take notice. Although some black leaders are speaking out, the black community as a whole seems to have their heads in the sand. If the president and the Democrats get their way, amnesty will be here to stay. If black Americans are willing to continue to support the president to their own detriment, their psychosis is worse than I thought.

This has been one of my main arguments against amnesty and increased immigration in general. The people who get hurt the most are the people who are at the bottom of the ladder. That the black population in American votes virtually 100% Democrat in presidential elections is amazing to me. By doing this, they have lost any negotiating power they may have had with either party. With the Dems because they know they have them in the bag, with the Reps because they know nothing they say will attract more votes.

We constantly hear the refrain, “there are some jobs Americans won’t do”. Unfortunately, they don’t complete the sentence, which should run “at wages you can pay to uneducated young peasants trying to escape poverty in third world nations…”

Why is the USA responsible for bringing the rest of the world out of poverty and corruption? As I remind people, 310 million Chinese could migrate to the USA and there would still be over 1 billion left in China.

We need to let American jobs go to Americans.

That’s a great point, Mr. Kung.

      And that.

A nice article and some nice responses so far — like Kung Fu Zu, I oppose the massive immigration of undereducated people with few skills because it makes it impossible for welfare recipients to find the work that would enable them to escape dependence (as some probably would like to do). He’s also quite correct about the problem of blacks losing their leverage by voting monolithically Democratic, as Jack Roosevelt Robinson pointed out over half a century ago (when they were still somewhat up for grabs as voters).

Basically, the Democrats buy a large number of black votes through welfare programs (as Theodore H. White pointed out in The Making of the President 1960), and have cemented this loyalty further (since most blacks aren’t actually on welfare at any given moment) by a combination of fear-mongering (“Every time you don’t vote another church burns”) and buying off utterly corrupt leaders such as Jesse the Jetstream (as Mike Royko referred to Jesse Jackson in 1972).

This frees them to devote their effort to buy off Hispanics until the day comes when they’re just as monolithic as blacks, at which point they no doubt will face the same bleak fate. Asian voters may be in the same position, though their current cultural attitude (pro-education, pro-accomplishment) will take quite some time to decay. But decay it will if they commit themselves to liberalism, which has no use for their cultural attitudes.

Of course, the future of everyone is likely to bleak in the end if liberalism triumphs. Hence my increasing inclination to repeat Allen Drury’s “crepe of morning” quote. Or, perhaps, the quote associated with Louis XV of France: Apres moi, le deluge.

So B. Hussein feels the need to pad the voter rolls. I though that’s what ACORN was for? (ACORN actually had the entire Dallas Cowboys registered to vote in Arizona.)

    • Timothy Lane says:

How many times can Dick Tracy and Mary Poppins (both registered by ACORN in Cleveland a decade ago, as I recall) vote?

      • David Ray says:

Now that’s amusing. What ostentatious names like that demonstrate is the sheer arrogance Obama voters display. Another example is one woman dumb enough to brag to the news cameras that she voted for B. Hussein six times. She apparently felt confident she’d be shrugged off, but a jail term told her differently.

Of course any liberal will tell you that voter I.D. is a waste of time.
