In God We Trust

by Fashqn3/2/14

Pressures all around the globe; darkness not only at night
Principalities and powers prepare for what looks like a long, ugly fight

Riots rage, violence ensues; evil seems worse than before
Instability, fear, confusion and doubt seem to fill the air more and more

The dollar is losing it’s value fast; this idol that captured our faith
The economy crumbles before our eyes, the republic no longer is safe

The politicians promise relief; while the debt is increasing each day
The liberal left is catered to , while the Christians are losing their say

The constitution that served us so long, is mocked as long out of date
Those who stand up for freedom and truth are accused of harboring hate

Churches stay silent while morality wanes; they’re oh so politically correct
While the principles and guidelines that God has set forth seem perfectly fine to neglect

Evil’s called good, and good is called evil just as the Bible foretold
Conservative voices seem quieter than ever; progressive ones even more bold

This world and all of the troubles we see will one day turn back into dust
I’m thankful another one lies ahead whose truth is “In God We Trust”

  1. Brad Nelson Brad Nelson says:

I think this is very good.

  2. Timothy Lane says:

In naming the Rolling Stones’ “Sympathy for the Devil” as one of the top 100 conservative rock songs, they noted not only such lines as the Devil saysing “Hung around St. Petersburg till I found it was time for a change. Killed the Tsar and his ministers, Anastasia screamed in vain.” But they also added the later lines, “Just as every cop is a criminal, and all the sinners saints.” (Although they didn’t mention it, this is followed by, “Just as heads is tails, call me Lucifer.”) I think you can guess which lines made me think of that.
