Whether the point of the 100 million dollar bribe is to get players to stand for the national anthem is unclear. But according to this American Thinker article, it’s not working.

Lifson is doubtful that the owners will rescind the bribe now that it has been shown not to work. My opinion is that fans need to make the NFL pay. They need to bring the owners and the players to their knees, but on our terms.

As it is, I truly have erased the NFL from my viewing list although it remains of interest as a political football. It's not often you get to "make a difference" if you are on the right. Stay home. Turn it off. Don't buy apparel. How sad that so many of my so-called conservative friends must continue to have their bread-and-circuses at all costs.

As I noted earlier, the agreement never required the players to stop kneeling. They may have hoped they would, but even those idiots had to realize they might not. And increasing numbers of people are following your suggestion even if they don't know you suggest it. Since I don't watch football to begin with, it's irrelevant with me.

I just learned that Roger Goodell, the worthless NFL commissioner, is the son of former GOP Congressman and Senator Charles Goodell of New York. He started out as a moderate conservative and was appointed to the Senate in 1968 (replacing the assassinated Bobby Kennedy) as something of a counterpart for staunchly liberal Jacob Javits. Then he turned far left, particularly on the Vietnam War, as if deciding to replicate his predecessor. He lost in 1970 to James Buckley in a brilliant campaign by Nixon. He had Agnew attack Goodell, which freed most Republicans to vote for Buckley while encouraging liberals to vote for Goodell rather than Democrat Richard Ottinger. Buckley ended up beating Ottinger 39-37, with Goodell getting 23%. The son is taking after the fatner.
