I agree McEnroe should have been thrown out of the sport. By some twist of fate, Borg was in the sport at the very same time and provided a wonderful juxtaposition for those who cared to watch.

I do feel sympathy for poor Miss Osaka, whose win should have been a celebration but somehow ended up as shameful. If I were the young lady, I would think very hard as to whether or not I would return to the venue full of rude New Yorkers,(but I repeat myself) next year.

One can only hope Miss Osaka's and Not-Serena Williams' paths cross again and Miss Osaka whips William's ass.

This article is good news to those of us who believe the country should cut back on its "sport's addiction" particularly that to the unpatriotic NFL.

Dallas local TV ratings should make the rest of the NFL nervous

Note the writer did not mention the controversy surrounding the players taking a knee. I wonder why?

While I can agree the Cowboys are boring, this is nothing new. They have generally been boring since Troy Aikman retired. But Texans are a pretty patriotic bunch and do not take kindly to scoundrels, particularly rich pampered ignorant scoundrels, showing a lack of respect to our country.

Nike so far seems to have won its Crappernick bet. Enough leftists want to buy sneakers (a more appropriate term when they're buying them) to make up for conservatives who switch to other brands. But it doesn't seem to work for the NFL. I guess buying something you wanted anyway is different from spending hours watching something you don't like. The NFL never seems to have understood who was watching their games. Nike, unfortunately, was paying to who bought their goods (or should that be bads?).

The day I heard about Nike's Crappernick bet, I told my wife it was a logical thing for them to do considering their clientele. Only inner-city idiots who shoot each other over Air Jordans (?) and such rubbish (and their like) worship such footware. Why anyone would consider sneakers to be a fashion statement is beyond me.

It would appear that the decline continues.

It doesn't look like things are getting any better for many NFL teams.

That would be so cool if the backlash works. Of course, we don't know if this is a backlash, if younger people are just graving to other forms of entertainment, or if the backlash is sort of a backlash against the gouging that NFL stadium do. How much is a beer? 8 bucks would probably be on the cheep side. It may be a situation where there ain't a lot of love lost.
