I saw that headline on Drudge this morning as well, Mr. Kung. I wanted to do something with it but it only shows the first couple of paragraphs.
I’ve spoken to people online (I’m sure you all have) who’ve gone completely ballistic simply for expressing a different opinion about something. And I’m including within this group people who were or had been friends of mine for some time.
I’m torn between understanding this as a function of human nature and as something peculiar to our time.
Whatever the case may be, I think it’s axiomatic that the less wisdom one has the more apt one is to reach for the nuclear option in one’s thinking and behavior, even accounting for different temperaments.
More and more I’m coming to dislike people. And I’m not alone. Look around you. I see businesses and government offices that once were open to be public become hidden behind security doors. I just delivered something to a customer today and had a WTF? moment. Why a security door here at a friggin’ office?
The disgraceful recent activity by the mob (and the truly idiotic mayor of Portland, OR) regarding an ICE office is ominous. There is no hyperbole in my voice when I say this general state of affairs can only be corrected by a good deal of bloodletting. That’s not a threat. That’s an analysis of what I think decent and ordinary people are up against.
But how many will be left after turning into 3-year-olds?
