Yes, in all that time in which she was in charge of ethics at various places, she obviously never learned any of her own.

What better place to find loose women? I believe this is the type of thing Brad has commented about when saying young males are willing to espouse leftism for the sake of a little easy sex.

I've seen similar things before. In working up my report on the 2004 election, I got the New York Times from 2 days after Election Day, which had detailed reports. It also had an article on Kerry supporters who broke off with beloved family members over political defenses. (Sounds a bit like Johnny Cash's "The One on the Right Is on the Left", about a musical group that broke after a free-for-all on stage over their political differences.)

Is this not further proof that younger generations are increasingly ignorant? They say socialism is also more acceptable amongst millennials. Do I detect a correlation here?

They had this on The Greg Gutfeld Show tonight. I wasn't sure it was true. But if you think about it, where would millennials learn that that the Earth is round? In school? Surely they're spending too much time teaching leftist dogma to get to details such as the shape of the Earth.

This is why the tops of some equatorial mountains are further from the center of the Earth than Mt. Everest. I think Asimov, in an article on the subject that cited 3 ways to measure a mountain's height, gave Chimborazo as the farthest from the center. Everest, of course, is the highest above sea level, and the tallest from base to summit was Mauna Kea, since its base is the ocean floor.

The Earth is an oblate spheroid.

I knew someone would say this.

If a third of the darlings can't figure out the general proposition that the world is round, can you imagine the consternation which would arise if you tried to teach "the world is an oblate spheroid"? There would be anarchy!

Perhaps if one taught that the world is shaped like a slightly squished orange....

That might work, since it does reflect the shape of the Earth well. But the fact remains that we all learned, somewhere on the way, that the Earth is an oblate spheroid (I believe slightly oblate, but never mind), so there's no reason the mushy minds of today couldn't learn it.

One of the interesting mentally insane aspects of the Left (and their lackeys) is the idea that those on the right are anti-science. In practice, no force on earth could be more anti-science than the Left, if only because of their destruction of education.

I suppose it’s lucky that most people know they live on a planet, of whatever shape. But, yes, it’s surprising (if such surveys are accurate, and I never assume so these days) if 1/3 of yutes don’t know the earth is “round” as opposed to being flat or whatever. (Do they think it is triangular?) The only point drummed into their heads is that it is “warming.” And even then, they have no idea what this means other than polar bears stranded and adrift on chunks of ice.

The earth would be a sphere if not for the bulging at the equator due to the rotation. For a related reason, it’s why most countries launch their rockets as close to the equator as possible. You get a little extra centrifugal boost the nearer you are toward the poles.

It’s sort of the opposite regarding public schools. The closer you get to them, the more your sense of self-esteem may bulge but the more your actual knowledge is grounded.
