Mark Steyn, very much thinking along the lines of yours truly regarding the reaction to the Manchester attack by Islam, was quoted in an AT article:
Theresa May's statement in Downing Street is said by my old friends at The Spectator to be "defiant", but what she is defying is not terrorism but reality. So too for all the exhausted accessories of defiance chic: candles, teddy bears, hashtags, the pitiful passive rote gestures that acknowledge atrocity without addressing it – like the Eloi in H G Wells' Time Machine, too evolved to resist the Morlocks.
One can certainly grieve for the young children killed or injured who were not complicit in the racism against whites that is formally called “multiculturalism,” but we should be circumspect about any outrage regarding this act of war by Islam. These people in Europe are creating exactly the kind of culture they want to live in, including excusing the barbarity of Islam.
It could occur to the young adults who attend such concerts and are nearly blown up (escaping the fate of the Islamic bomb lottery) that their own governments won’t protect them. It’s obvious that these governments won’t. They’re good at lighting candles and warning people not to over-react (or even act), and very poor at protecting their citizens from the Muslim animals.
In some respects, this is just Karma. A culture that routinely butchers unborn children in the millions might find it easy to get used to the slaughter, to thinking of bombings by Islamists as just the societal tax you have to pay. One-third of all pregnancies in Europe end in abortion (adding greatly to the demographic downfall of native populations). According to some quick Googling, England has topped France as the leader with 219,336 abortions in the UK in 2007.
If death is what Europe wants, there is no shortage of Muslims who will give it to them. It’s ironic (crazy, really) that Europeans consider conservatives and Christians to be their most direct and despised enemies. To them, we represent exactly the very thing that Muslims are actively carrying out: misogyny and the dominance of men, hatred of homosexuals, religious fundamentalism, enemies of the sexual revolution, etc. — and all carried out not by the ballot box but by intimidation and violence.
So, aside from the innocent children who are harmed, you might understand that I can find little sympathy for a culture (Europe) that is not in the least a victim of Islam but a willing participant in its own destruction.
